This is a study of another original portrait by the Dutch portraitist Therese Schwartze. It is believed to be one in a series of works of “Italian Models” painted in oil around 1884. I love the atmospheric nature of the light in this work and the way Therese Schwatrze has captured those very expressive eyes!
